The CG on Science chapter on Significant Numbers involves an exploration of how rounding of numbers after using division and multiplication where decimal positions are involved can affect accuracy.

When multiplying, having decimal positions in the numbers can alter the result. The number of decimal positions in the product will be the sum of decimal positions in the multipliers. When multiplying a number having three decimal positions and another number only having one decimal positions, the product can only have one decimal position.. Rounding the answer could leave us with an answer of 25.2 instead of 25.185. When we do that, what happens to the discarded 0.015 that was rounded off?
